Welcome!

We are the Atomic Badgers, the UW-Madison chapter of the American Nuclear Society! We serve as a platform for undergraduate and graduate students of any major interested in nuclear science and technology. By facilitating interaction between students, volunteering and fundraising in the community, and trips to conferences and industry sites, we help develop our members’ professional skills and social connections.

ANS Student Conference

We send a delegation to the national conference annually to engage with fellow nuclear engineering students & professionals.

Industry Speakers

We invite speakers from across the nuclear industry to present their work and meet UW students.

Social Events

Come to our frequent socials to meet students and faculty that all share common interests in nuclear science and technology.

Community Participation

Through participating in the community we help demystify nuclear technology and introduce the next generation to this industry.

UW-Madison ANS does a variety of events, such as tabling on library mall, helping scouts gain merit badges, and fundraising for the national conference trip.
